My name is Linda, and welcome to my just giving page.

I live in in the scottish highlands. A single parent to the last of my brood and still at home with a 15 year old daughter and a 12 year old son. This  is  my  story.  I  first  moved  into  my  house  32  years  ago  with  my  husband  a  soldier  in  the  british  armed  forces.  we  had  arrived  back  from  germany  after  he  had  been  posted  there  for  5  years  with  two  small  children.  After  10  years togeather  we  split  up.  I  then  met  the  person  who  was  set  to  ruin  my  life.  At  first  he  was  a  true  gentleman.  He  worked  hard  on  the  oil  rigs  and  soon  moved  into  my  home  and  within  a  year  i  found  myself  pregnant.  This  is  where  my  nightmare  began.  As  i  slipped  into  a  world  of  extreme  domestic  violence  for  the  next  11  years,  which  i'm  not  going  into  with  much  detail  as  it's  too  horrific  to  dredge  back  up.  I  was  left barefoot and  pregnant 3  more  times.  Still  living  on  eggshells  and  fear  him.  In  the   meantime  i  fell  into  council  tax  arrears,  whilst  the  father  of  my  children  lived  a  luxurious  life  with  endless  holidays,  none  of  which  the  children  and  i  were  ever  invited on. Eventually after an unspeakable incident i had to get the police involved. And this time they stuck with this complaint. With the help of womans aid and the childrens womans aid workers it had taken a long two years  of  counceling to slowly get our lives  back  on  track.  I  found  work  and  struggled  on  providing  for  my  children,  paid  my  mortgage  and  all  the  usual  bills.  Council  tax  was  the  last  bill  on  my  mind  as  i  was  in  defecit  each  week.  Going  without  heating  and  clothes  i  struggled  on  so  the  kids  could  have  food  on  the  table.  In  the  meantime  the  highland  council  were  trying  to  squeeze  what  ever  they  could  out  of  me  and  was  just  slipping  further  into  the  quagmire.  I  can  honestly  say  i  have  not  had  the  money  to  pay  it.  They  passed  it  on  to a  debt collection agency  and i was paying £500 a month over a few months and with one thing and another they wanted the full amount. KPMG are the agency and they made me go through a bankruptcy. After my bankruptcy had ended they had put £30333.96 in charges and interest to my bill. They wanted this amount in full or they are going to evict us. This is an insane amount to pay straight out and cannot possibly manage it in this lifetime. Now they have forced the sale of my house and after the vultures have had their share between them all we'll have nothing. There isn't anywhere to rent around this area and need my kids to stay in the same school as my 15 year old is sitting her exams this year. I have a craft stall which i have every saturday and sell my handmade things. I have managed to save a small amount but it's nowhere near enough. I'm desperatly trying to raise £30000 to pay KPMG off so i can stay in my home of 32 years and stay in my full time work, whilst trying to keep my children in their school. When my house is sold which is soon as  the  estate  agent  has  been  out  this  last  week  and  is  already  marketing  it  for  KPMG.  The  highland  council  have  said  they  can  put  us  in  a  B&B  40  miles  away.  I  dont  drive  so  i  will  not  be  able  to  get  to  my  work  or  the  kids  get  to  their  school.  I  know  i  have  messed  up please no negative comments i dont  know  which  way  to turn. I will try to work harder and donate my items to in return for any donations i recieve.

    Many thanks

    Linda
