Story

In June of 2020 I discovered that a very close friend of mine Katy had been diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer by September 2020 we had started fundraising for her as she was struggling to get the financial support she was entitled to under the special circumstances of PIP Applications.

Last Friday morning Katy experienced absolute breathlessness.

The Paramedics on the scene told Katy she had a right sided pneumothorax with respiratory arrest imminent.
Katy then spent the next 12 hours being stabilised in resus and ITU.

This massive respiratory trauma put a huge strain on her heart which went into VF several times as it struggled to pump the blood, her blood pressure fell so low it was undetectable….it did not look good for her.

Thanks to the amazing team at the Northern General Hospital where a chain of people worked tirelessly to administer top level emergency trauma and resuscitation that saved Katy's life she is still in the NGH having had some clot busting drugs in ITU but she still cannot breathe without help.

In early 2021 Katy had to move into a much smaller more affordable property.

During this period she continued to receive Cancer treatments that left her scarred and burnt and she was forced to store her belongings in her local Sheffield Big Yellow Storage centre.

Unfortunately she soon fell behind with her Storage payment and now Big Yellow have taken all of her belongings and are threatening to dispose of them, still calling her and harassing her while she is in hospital recovering.

We have asked Big Yellow to to show some compassion but it all seems to have fallen on deaf ears with their latest call to her whilst still ill in hospital.

So here we are asking for YOUR help to help Katy get her belongings back and if you're unable to donate please consider taking to Social Media and asking Big Yellow Storage why they feel its ok to hound a woman with a life limiting illness like this.

Even £1 will go a long way.

Thank you
Linda
