My long term partner and father to my children suffered a massive pulmonary embolism in February 2016 and was admitted to hospital. He came home with limited mobility for a short time before being readmitted at the beginning of May with further health problems.

Richard has remained in hospital ever since and his condition has continued to deteriorate. He is now on life support in the Intensive Care Unit at Landough Hospital in Cardiff. He has been diagnosed as suffering from Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) .

Richard is a shadow of his former self. He has lost 5 stone in weight and is unable to do anything for himself. Richard is unable to move any part of his body and has to be fed through a tube in his stomach. He is unable to communicate and recently had a tracheostomy fitted.

My funny, loving partner, who has always worked hard to support his family as a coach driver, faces a gruelling and long battle to recover from this crippling illness.

As well as the emotional devastation we are going through, we are under extreme financial pressure without Richard's income and facing the possibility of losing our family home of 30 years due to growing rent arrears.

I am currently on sick leave from my job due to the stress that I am under.

I visit Richard every day to try and keep his spirits up and encourage him to keep fighting. As I am unable to drive, I have to catch a train and a bus to get to the hospital, which costs £50 a week. This is adding further to our financial problems and we are struggling to keep our heads above water.

If we were able to raise the money to pay off the rent arrears and to help me continue to visit Richard every day, it would help to relieve this pressure and allow us to focus all our efforts on helping Richard to recover as quickly as possible. We just want him home.
