Six years ago our beloved mother Linda developed Breast cancer. After intensive surgery to remove and reconstruct the breast and many grueling rounds of chemotherapy later we managed to secure her place in this world for what we thought a long time. However Cancer had other ideas and it has reared its ugly head once more only this time it has spread to her bones.

In january 2018 we were given the the devesting news that the cancer was now terminal,

Currently she has tumors all over the skeletal system including her skull, spine, pelvis and ribs... basically in every bone in her body 😞 the tumors in the skull are pushing on nerves which control movement in the face and these are causing her great distress... however this is nothing in comparison to the searing pain mum feels everyday.

Mums cancer is a grade 4 aggressive metastatic cancer and causes constant pain in every part of the body

The prognosis was 3 -6 months without treatment and up to 12 months with treatment. Now, 5 months after the prognosis Mum has had the first round of radiotherapy to the skull, and is currently on a second round of chemo as the first round hasnt showed any improvement. Unfortunalty the disease is progressing and mum now has developed other debilating symptoms including convulsive blackouts. The rate of spread of the disease appears to have been slowed by the medication provided by the NHS and by that purchased with the kind donations made by everyone here.

Our target all along had been to raise £15.000 and so far have raised £4,400, This has been used primarily to fund private medication. We need to keep the fundraising monemtion up so we can carry on purchasing medication and for all associated costs as follows: mobitily aids, private medication, alternitive therapys and travel expenses to and from various hospitals.
