Story

A few words from my dad on the subject of mobility:

Licence to drive at twenty one, able to go wherever using the freedom of mobility as one is pleased at any time whenever. The time to stop came some sixty three years later with realising that the faculties to drive safely had diminished and my driving days were finished.

We take our mobility for granted when we are young, fit and able. We can get out, run, jump, climb or maybe just walk to the park or the shops to buy a pint of milk and a newspaper.

Our wonderful elder Cyril, aka Josh, Dadkins and GDaddy, has recently passed away. He had great difficulty in accepting the onset of old age. To him it meant loss of independence and issues with being included in fun things that ordinary people do, things that he used to take great pleasure in.

Often with old age comes discomfort followed quickly by reluctance to make the effort to get up and go and stay interested in what life can offer. I think my dad would be touched to know that one of his fellow residents could enjoy freedom in comfort.

If you would like to donate a small sum I will make up the difference for the cost of this wheelchair by doing a challenge or three
