On August 1st 2018, I am travelling to Hyderabad, India to volunteer at the charity Sarah's Covenant Homes. SCH is a community of family-style foster homes in India that cares for children and young adults with disabilities. They particularly asked for writers to help them tell the children's stories and to raise awareness, so it seemed as if my skills were a perfect fit.

As some of you know, India has been on my heart for years. I was there for nine months in 2003/2004 and returned in 2008, hoping to stay long-term. I was forced to come back as a result of illness and wondered if I would ever be able to return again. As a result, I am so thrilled that I was accepted for this trip.

Of course, the trip does not come without certain expenses: Travel Insurance and Visa (both just under one hundred pounds) and the flight (seven hundred pounds). If anyone would like to contribute towards these expenses, I would be hugely grateful.
