Help Us Save Guinea Pigs & Rabbits in Need
Every year across the UK, thousands of guinea pigs and rabbits are surrendered, neglected, or brought into rescues due to rising living costs, unexpected vet bills, changes in family circumstances, or owners no longer being able to provide adequate care. Many arrive frightened, underweight, suffering from mites, untreated illnesses, or having lived in unsuitable conditions.
At Keki's Guinea Pig and Rabbit Rescue, we are dedicated to giving every animal a second chance at life, safety, and happiness.
Animal rescues everywhere are currently under enormous pressure, with more animals needing help than ever before. We know many rescues and foster networks are doing everything they can with limited resources, and we are all working towards the same goal — protecting the welfare of vulnerable animals.
At our rescue, every rabbit and guinea pig is provided with:
* A safe and spacious minimum 6ft enclosure
* Unlimited hay and nutritious food
* Enrichment and daily care
* Clean bedding and regular health monitoring
* Parasite and mite treatment
* Veterinary treatment where required
The cost of rescue care is significant. A rabbit entering rescue can cost approximately £80–£250 or more, depending on their condition and medical needs. This can include:
* Initial health checks
* Food and hay
* Mite and parasite treatment
* Vaccinations
* Neutering
* Dental treatment
* Vet consultations and medications
* Bedding and enrichment supplies
Guinea pigs also often arrive requiring medical treatment, specialist diets, and ongoing care.
The number of animals needing rescue has now reached a point where we have had to make the incredibly difficult decision to temporarily stop accepting new rescues until we can secure enough funding for:
* New minimum 6ft enclosures
* Additional foster homes
* Expanded rescue space
* Essential food and care supplies
* Continued veterinary support for the animals already in our care
The wellbeing and quality of life of every animal must remain our top priority. We never want to compromise the standard of care we provide, and without urgent support this is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards housing, feeding, treating, and caring for rabbits and guinea pigs who rely on us for safety and a second chance.
Thank you for supporting Kekis Guinea Pig and Rabbit Rescue and helping us continue this vital work.
