I've raised £15000 to buy much needed specialist postural management equipment for the Special Schools in Heywood, Rochdale and Middleton

We are a small team of Paediatric Therapists who are planning to walk A LOT to try and raise funds. We are trying to raise as much money as possible to buy specialist equipment for the children in our local special schools. These children have a range of complex disabilities and can be completely dependent on others for all of their care.
We know that to reduce the risk of these children developing any further complications or postural deformities they need to lie in a straight and symmetrical posture and have a change of position throughout the day. There's a wonderful range of equipment to support and position them well, unfortunately, it's very expensive and the NHS pot and the Education pot doesn't stretch very far. For example, in one of our classes we have 15 children who need supportive positioning but only one specialist learning bed in the whole school.
We feel that there are a lot of children on our caseloads across the whole borough of Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale that would benefit so much from this equipment and we are willing to put our feet on the line to try and get them it.
To make sure we earn every penny we really will be working hard. Our main challenge will be to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks. This is a really tough, 26 mile and approx 12 hour walk up and down Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. We will be doing training walks and clocking up our miles to get ready for it over the next few months and hope to be tackling the Three Peaks in September.
We really would appreciate any donation, every little helps!
