On 8th March 2019, a long-term member of the Digital Spy forums, who goes by the display name linkinpark875, visited an unspecified branch of Asda in the hope of treating himself to a sugary snack. Much to his disgust, there was no chocolate on display at the tills, only the healthy bars. This would have meant going to the confectionery aisle and buying a multi-pack when all he wanted was a single bar. All this after a hard day's work.

Speaking to the Digital Spy General Discussion community, linkinpark875 said he was "disgusted" at the move. "We should not be rammed healthy crap down our throats" he added, "we should have the choice to buy both."

The distraught customer has stated he will be writing to the local press with regards to the matter and is awaiting a response from Asda.

We can appreciate that this was obviously a distressing experience for the individual concerned, that is why we are raising funds in order to buy as many sugary snacks as we can on his behalf. With your donation, we can club together and buy him all the chocolate buttons (the giant ones, courtesy of one very kind member of the community), Freddos, Mars Bars, Snickers, Double Deckers and any other type of sugary snack you can think of (suggestions are welcome).

The aim of this appeal to to take the sting out of the trauma experienced by linkinpark875 as a result of the above and hopefully lift his spirits up. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.

P.S. We will ignore the fact that you can still buy individual chocolate bars from the lottery/cigarette kiosk.
