Story

After illness, hospitalisation, injury and losing our beloved father at Christmas the challenge is set for November 2022!

My wonderful sister Kirsty is a proud mother to three lovely boys, Dylan 1, Uriah-Jack 2 & Connor aged 19. In September 2020, our lives were turned upside down when Kirsty was diagnosed with Breast Cancer stage 3. Life can be cruel, especially after receiving the recent news that her and partner John were expecting a new member to their little family.

In the following weeks, alone due to COVID restrictions my brave sister had a Mastectomy and chemotherapy followed along with a wave of pain & agony that this poison brings with it.

January 2021, after a continuous chemotherapy we welcomed Dylan to the world, it still amazes me that my little Sister had the strength and determination to have done this and continues to care for other whilst she is so ill herself. Since then were given the devastating news that the Cancer had spread and that it will no-longer be curable. We continue the fight and hope to keep it contained for as long as possible so that Kirsty can make amazing memories with her family.

To raise awareness for cancer and to help my sister and her young family create some lasting memories, I will be completing a challenge to run 48 miles in 48 hours (that is nearly 2 whole marathons over 2 days). I have chose this challenge to channel some of the strength my sister has been showing during this time. The challenge will start on the Friday evening and finish during Sunday.

As well as raising money for Cancer Research UK the main purpose of this fundraising is to help create special memories that will live with Kirsty's young family forever (top of the list is a trip to the peak district, a place close to our hearts). We will donate 10% of all donations to Cancer research. Should you prefer to give 100% to that charity, or 100% to my Sister please just add a note in comments (K - 100% Kirsty, CR - 100% Cancer Research UK).

I understand that every single penny is crucial at this time, but any donation or kind words of support would be greatly appreciated.

My sister means the world to me, and all the family so thank you again for reading our story.

Love to you all x
