    Story

For those of you that dont know me my name is lindsay i am 35 years old and ive been in a wheelchair for almost 14 years, i have an illness called ehlers danlos syndrome (a connective tissue disorder) this is very dibilitating condition, i have many secondary conditions that effects my heart. But also 14 years ago i collapsed and became paralized down my lefts side unfortunatly the doctors dont know what has caused this to happen after several months my left arm returned to full function but my leg never has, my illness had caused wheelchair use on and off before the paralisis but now i am fully wheelchair bound due to the EDS And paralisis,i have been contanplating having my leg amputated in order to be fitted with a prosthetic limb so i can get out of my wheelchair a little, i am fully aware that a brace or amputation wouldnt make me free of my wheelchair but i have two wonderful younge children who i would love to beable to get up and push a swing or take them into there classroom at school, again i am fully aware that this will be for a brief time but this would mean the world to me and my children and mentaly help me get through the days, on top of all this iam having major problems with being able to eat due to problems with my oesophagus and there for i may need my feeding tube refitted again, ive been told my top doctors in london that after a while i will need to be fed intrevenously and would there fore have a high persentage of NOT surviving due to EDS patients having a high risk of infection than normal. This brace that i am needing is called a C brace this brace is very very exspensive and costs are from 45k to 60k so iam trying to raise as much money as i can to beable to purchase it, its a very very long shot failing to raise the full amount then the money could help fund a specialized prosthetic leg or other braces to help me become a little more comfortable eitherway this will be life changing not just for me but for my young children aswell.if you want to know more about the brace and its cost type in CBrace on the internet and it comes up straight away, thanks for your time in reading my story and thank you in advanced for your kind donations how ever great or little they are every penny counts inorder to get that one step closer. . Again thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your donations. xxx
