We launched on the 30th of March, 2007, and we operate totally through the goodwill of our volunteers and our listeners' generous natures.

Our volunteers range from teenagers to the retired. We provide work experience weeks for mid-teens and work with several back-to-work organisations to provide work based-training opportunities. Our youngsters come from a variety of Northumberland schools (increasingly farther from Alnwick) as we are the only community radio station in the area, and we provide the necessary supportive and protective environment for them

The studio was actually shut down for live broadcasting during the first lockdown in March 2020, and we have tried our hardest to keep as much programming going as possible through pre-recorded shows. However, to keep running during lockdown, we have still had to pay rent on our studio, plus the associated utility bills; as well as all of the broadcast licences and additional 'unexpected outgoings' that have cropped up... Saying that, we are really excited about the possibility of being able to broadcast live again in the future - hopefully the near future!

This is our ninth annual online fundraiser. We run the fundraiser from the 1st of March to the 31st of March, and we ask you to please make a generous donation to keep us going for another twelve months.
