I've raised £2250 to fund a community use 'Lifeline View Defibrillator' and medical equipment at Leicester Lions RFC, Blaby.

At the end of last season 1st XV player and coach Jon Boden set himself the target of raising £3,000 to fund a 'Community Use Defibrillator' at the Club. Post season he has raised £750 and the rest of the Club is now jumping on board to help drive the pack over the line.
With assistance from 'The Community HeartBeat Trust', 'England Rugby' and 'Rugby Safe' we have managed to drive down the cost of the defibrillator. As a result we are extending our cause to fund further important medical supplies for the Club. This includes replacing old medical equipment and some new additional items that are recommended by the RFU.
At Leicester Lions RFC we want to ensure we have the safest environment to play rugby union and you can help us achieve this. With your support we can ensure are players, coaches, supports and the wider community have access to medical equipment that may not normally be available.
Our 1st XV physio is trained to use various items of medical equipment that we want to make available to him so that everyone may benefit.
Following Jon's great start to the fundraising the Mini & Junior sections at the Club are already looking for ways to keep the total climbing.
Club Treasurer Mike Williams has agreed to run his first every 1/2 marathon at the Leiecester Marathon event on 15th October 2017.
As more fundraising ideas come in we'll keep you updated.
