We are Brighton & Hove Wildlife Advice & Rescue Service (WARS)
Our rescue service is becoming increasingly well known in our city and surrounding areas, which is putting constant pressure on us as we are out all day every day rescuing injured or poorly wildlife. This summer has been the busiest most stressful one ever for us since we started this rescue service in 2018. We are having to drive much further afield to rescue wildlife now when people out of our area cant find help elsewhere. Our fuel costs are massive, last month our fuel costs hit £826. Without our fundraiser we wouldn’t be able to continue our rescue service. None of us can afford to pay this sort of money out of our wages, we would have no option other than to put our rescue service on hold and just become an advice service. It’s always a constant worry wondering when the day will come that we have no money in the fund pot.
We have been lucky to have recently found some new rescuers to join our team, they have been amazing! However, new rescuers means buying them equipment, which isn’t cheap. All new rescuers need animal carriers of varying sizes, a net and pole, towels, hi viz clothing, and once more experienced they will be supplied with other more expensive equipment. This is why these fundraisers are essential to keep this rescue service up and running. What started out as an occasional rescue now and then has now turned into a full time unpaid job with money coming out of our own pockets too.
You have all been so kind to us by donating to our fund, please can you continue to share our fund link to help keep us going. You have literally been life savers keeping us on the road, thank you all so very much 🙏
Thank you all so much 🙏
