In January 2015, my step-mum, Angela, suffered a massive brain haemorrhage, the initial effects being loss of movement, speech & recognition. She also contracted bacterial meningitis, a chest infection and “super bug”. After 5 months in Cork University hospital a rehab unit, Angela’s now home in Cork. With regular physio plus lots of support and encouragement from my dad, step-sister, her friends,, she has gone from being confined to a wheelchair, to now being able to walk with just a stick!
