Please help Joslyn and Izzy raise £9000 for the 2019 Scout Jamboree in America.

Jointly hosted by the Boy Scouts of America, Scouts of Canada and the Scout Association of Mexico, the Jamboree will take place from the 22nd July to the 2nd August 2019 at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, USA.

Joslyn and Izzy are working hard to raise £4,500 each over the next 18 months. The fee will contribute to Joslyn’s and Izzy’s attendance at the event and contribute to Scouts from other less affluent countries allowing them to attend. This supports the aim of the Jamboree: ‘Unlock a New World’.

Jocelyn and Izzy said: “The World Scout Jamboree is a unique, international adventure shaped by young people just like us. By attending as part of the UK contingent, we will be able to have a positive impact on Scouting and our local community.“

This is a massive commitment by the girls and they are trying so very hard to fund this themselves without the help of their parents.

They have already carried out lots of sponsored events. They have organised a Christmas disco, made cakes and biscuits, completed a sponsored swim, collected Christmas trees from local households, packed bags at a local supermarket and held an auction selling local memorabilia. There is a grand ball being held on 14th July, they have made and sold cards and held a very successful garage sale. They are looking at other ideas and opportunities to raise money but will need a little help from donations.
