Story

There has been a church at the heart of the Dawley community for hundreds of years and Holy Trinity Church has stood for over 150 years. As well as our regular services we run a thriving Toddler Group and host many local school events and concerts.

We are currently attempting to improve the interior so that we can use the building for more community activities, supporting our local families and providing a space for refreshment and conversation.

Unfortunately, the church roof is in need of repair and to repair it fully would cost approx £140,000. The recent heavy downpours and high winds have lifted some tiles and damaged the felting. This has caused some leaks which have damaged internal plaster and woodwork and the damp is hampering the internal improvements. At present we can only do a temporary repair to prevent further damage to the interior of the church.

I am the Curate in the Parish and I have been challenged to do a 24 hour fast and prayer to help to raise some funds on 28th October. For those of you who know me well, know I cannot go 24 minutes without eating something so its going to be tough. Lisa Harper

Please help me by donating money to our giving page to look after this historic church and to make it accessible for people attending both services and other events in church.
