Story

My name is Lisa Pearson, and I am 35 years of age. I am married and have two children aged eleven and eight. I am a full-time maths tutor as well as a retained firefighter at Silsden. I graduated as a firefighter in August 2023 and soon after, I signed up to my first White Collar boxing match in support of the Firefighter’s charity. In a short 12 weeks, I had prepared myself to fight my first bout. Sadly, I lost the fight against a more skilled opponent. I was not, however, defeated. My desire to keep practicing and advance my abilities has increased as a result.

A huge opportunity has arisen to travel to New York to fight in the first International Battle of the badges (Fire & Police from the UK and USA) at Maddison Square Garden. This time, I am an official athlete competing under England boxing regulations. I will be representing ‘firefight boxing club,’ ‘Yorkshire boxing,’ and ‘England boxing.’

The event takes place on Thursday 14th March 2024. It is an experience I never thought I would be part of. I am excited to get out there and give it my all and to help raise money for charity, in front of a huge crowd. .

To ease the financial strain, I humbly ask if anyone would be willing to sponsor me to help me with the travel expenditures. The opportunity was too good to turn down. If so, just click the link to the JustGiving page below. Any additional funding will be given to the charity ‘Tunnel to Towers.’

There was an opportunity for businesses/ individuals to have their logo/ name on my fight shorts? 'Silsden Football Club' and 'Dominic Avison- Man and Van,' both kindly donated to fund my kit. I can not thank both of these enough. Thank you.
