Story

Over the next few weeks I am going to be competing in the Equinox 24 hour run and Cardiff Half Marathon. In doing so, I have decided to try and raise some funds for Lawyers in the Soup Kitchen (LISK).

As some of you might know, I volunteer at LISK every Thursday evening. LISK is a project which operates from Brixton Soup Kitchen and assists members of the public with their legal queries and problems. Recent legal aid cuts, coupled with the over subscription at local legal advice centres mean that many who need urgent legal help (e.g eviction dates or bailiffs at the front door) are struggling to access it. Therefore, LISK is crucial in providing free legal resources to those in need.

LISK is run predominantly by a team of student lawyers. The project has no funding and all of our of our time is free. Any donations would be extremely helpful and will ensure that LISK can continue to operate in the future.
