Last week we came across a post on everything inverclyde via Facebook of a abandoned dog.. Turns out the dog in question is an old Staffa whom we have known for years...she is 15 years old and we were devasted that it had been abandoned.. We contacted the police who had the dog in there kennel to go and retrieve her.. Upon arrival the dog was extremely excited to see us.. The police after some proof was provided of knowledge of the dog was placed in our care.. Since then we have had her each day with her tail waggling away and clearly a happy dog in a loving and caring home compared to before.. Today we took the dog to the vet for an examination.. The vet was very pleased with the dogs condition considering her age.. Heart and teeth are great she is a big friendly dog.. However she is now deaf her ear canals are completely sealed and all they could do provide ear drops to reduce the itching she experiences.. Also upon further examination the vet discovered she is suffering from mammary glands which is a form of breast cancer for dogs...we made enquiries into the operation to correct this and help the dog.. The operation requires a blood test and a lung xray before any further treatment and discussions of the operation go ahead due to the high cost of the actual operation.. So we are looking for donations to help us pay towards the upcoming treatments and operations this beautiful old dog deserves to maintain the rest of her days in happiness and content.. Even though she is deaf she understands hand gestures and facial expressions very well and is a very outgoing loving dog.. We just want to make the rest of this dogs life a happy pain free life..so any help is greatly appreciated..
