Story

I know we bug everyone with our fundraising every year and believe me - we appreciate every single donation from £1 to £100 - we actually appreciate every single one the same as we all have different circumstances

To cut a long story short, ex-boxer Kevin Mitchell and I have raised £000's for amazing charities including @BCRT (Bone Cancer Research Trust) and @TheFightingChance, in fact too many to mention

Trying to keep this short - but on 27th December the little beautiful little baby in this picture official becomes our responsibility for as long as we live (as godparents)

On 1st September 2018 I landed in Kefalonia, Greece excited as always for a great week in the sun. I turned my phone on and read something that was possibly the worst thing I have ever digested as an adult and something I still struggle to comprehend - my little mate Billy ii had died in his sleep aged just 21. I loved this kid like a son, having watched his brother Jamie go through and survive a very rare form of cancer and have him sent to me for a week at a time by his parents when he was wayward

The funeral was the worst day of my life and still haunts me, seeing Billy in an open casket and hearing his mum, our great friend Tracey Wood ask us not to let them take him away - it was worse than my own mum and dads funerals and something I couldn't go to again

My true friends know how soft I am, but I have never seen Kevin Mitchell with tears in his eyes until he held that baby and talked to his mum Abbie. We made a pact that day that we would do our best to make sure the baby was ok like he was one of ours (he is one of our own to all intents)

Anyway, I didn't manage to keep it short but we have tried to do what we promised each month and because of this and our closeness to the family we will become official godparents on 27th December to Billy iii - Billy Wood or "Billy the Kid" as we called his beautiful, crazy dad would have been 22 that very day and we're back at the church where we said goodbye

What I would ask of my friends, is to imagine this was your child, grandchild or a friends child and give a little to help us - I don't care if it's the price of a pint or a Christmas night out and help his young mum now and in future

Every penny will be accountable and ensure his short / long term future

I wish I could word this better, but I know me and Kevin have given every month since that awful day and that every single donation can help young Billy iii get the start his beautiful dad would have made sure of x x x
