Story
As a country and community, we have collectively watched Covid-19 impact our lives in ways we could never have imagined.
As a football club created by the community to serve the community, we recognise the part that we play, not only before Covid-19, but during and ultimately afterward.
Football means so much to so many people.
Players never forget scoring their first goal, spectators are afforded the luxury of forgetting about all other problems for 90+ minutes and parents are filled with pride as they watch their children grow and develop both social and athletic skills.
Our coaches and club staff are humbled by the quality of young players moving through the club, we are also incredibly proud to provide opportunities for children to play football for one of our ten junior teams.
Unfortunately, the same staff are witnessing and confronted first-hand by economic hardship, which is being only worsened by the devastation caused by Covid-19. This is why we are appealing directly to the Retford community.
Together we are launching ‘Little Choughs’, a program dedicated to providing financial support to junior players within our club.
The first initiative of this is the launching of 'Little Choughs', a platform dedicated to raising money to specifically cover the training fees for the junior players most in need.
We are a non-profit football club and the fees raised will directly support the youth of Retford’s footballing opportunities all year round.
As a club we believe that no one should go without playing the game they love with their friends, having fun and developing football and key life skills along the way. We are hoping that as a community you believe this too.
We appreciate that this is a really tough time for all but please give generously where you can and thank you as always for your continued support…
To give you an idea of where your money will go - there is a £30 registration fee for each player at the start of the season followed by weekly subs of £2.50 for their training sessions and matches. As you can see, as little as £2.50 will make a huge difference.
Thank you!
