This is my little rescue dog - Dixie, she is a 5 year old Boxer Cross who didn't have the best start in life, she was left abandoned and needing serious medical care. She was picked up by the local pound where a rescue centre 'Rovers' collected her. Thankfully they gave her the medical treatment she needed and placed her in a loving foster home to recover. After seeing a post on Facebook looking for her forever home and reading that they hadn't received any applications wanting her I knew she was coming home with me forever.

Dixie should have at least another 5-10 years. Sadly however, on 12th August this year I was given the devastating news that Dixie has cancer, a fast growing tumour which needs urgent treatment in order to save her life. Dixie needs treatment at the leading Canine Cancer Centre in the UK and her treatment needs to start immediately. Dixie will need very difficult surgery to remove the tumour and this will have to be followed up with radiotherapy to ensure any surrounding cancer cells which will have been left behind, have been destroyed. Even though Dixie has premium insurance she's only covered for £6,000 and the cost of this life saving treatment is around £15,000 minimum - and without this Dixie will die from this horrible disease. Dixie is the happiest of souls, treasured best friend and very much loved, she is adored by all she meets and I cannot imagine life without her, she is my world! Please, if you could look into your hearts and help me to raise the much needed funds to save my beautiful Dixie's life I would be forever grateful.
