Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Littlegarth has just completed an extensive building project, which will not only benefit our own children but also local community groups and primary schools. We are aiming to raise £50,000 to support this ambitious project and we are seeking to resource those rooms to the highest standard. At the same time as fundraising for our own extensive project, we also intend to support a Kenyan school that we helped to build ten years ago. Olkimitare School is seeking to build a Library. Littlegarth children have embarked on a sponsored ‘Read-a-thon’ to support this cause and we intend to donate 10% of all funds raised on this site to support Olkimitare School.
The new building project at Littlegarth incorporates two Reception and two Year 6 classrooms, a large integrated library and IT suite on the ground floor. Upstairs, there are two Year 5 classrooms as well as a spacious art room, and a learning support room. The building also includes a performing arts department comprising of spacious studios for music and drama.
Olkimitare School is a small nursery school situated approximately 10 kilometres from Kicheche Mara Camp in Kenya. The school is reliant on the limited income available from school fees. Money raised from fees is not sufficient to maintain or enhance the infrastructure, or even buy text books . Ten years ago Littlegarth raised almost £4,000 to help rebuild the school. Today Littlegarth is keen to help the children of Olkimitare once again by funding the building and resourcing of a new library to support the learning of the children.
More information regarding the Littlegarth building development and Olkimitare School and can be seen on our website, together with a list of example resources required for our new building http://www.littlegarth.essex.sch.uk/school-development/
