    Story

Littlehampton Bonfire Society has been running since 1952. Since its small beginnings, the event has grown into a massive event and the biggest in the town's calendar. It is now attended by an estimated 20,00 people.

Run by the Community, for the Community

This free event is organised entirely by a committee of volunteers, not by the council as many people believe. The council does provide support, for which Littlehampton Bonfire Society is very grateful, but without dedicated members and volunteers, the society simply wouldn't exist.

    £30,000 and Increasing

The costs of putting on the event generally increase each year, and are now in the region of £30,000. To meet these costs, the society's volunteers work hard throughout the year to fundraise.

    Join the Fun!

Organising and staging the event is hard work, but we have a lot of fun along the way. Please consider also becoming a member. Membership is cheap, and enables you to get more actively involved, including attending a number of social events. Please join us. Thank you.
