Story
Hello and welcome to my Justgiving page, the journey into the world of Acting began at the National Youth Theatre, a space to connect with people, explore imagination and have fun, the joy of performing came from the freedom to be creative. Infected with the Acting bug I went continued to attend Youth Theatre workshops, mainly Cardboard Citizens, where I was given the space to create my own work through improvisation and devised theatre. All of which I found incredible as the emphasis was based upon empowering the individual to discover and use their voice, become an artist.
I dipped my toes into part time courses as they gave me the opportunity to study and live my life. I sampled the Identity School of Acting and Kingdom Drama School, to view a professional monolgue that I had filmed at Kingdom Drama School, watch the video above. I urge you to watch my performance in the video above.
Upon reflection it has become apparant that part time courses are likened to taster courses as you only really scratch the surface, nothing is explored in depth and their simply is not enough time or space to learn effectively. In may 2022 I decided to audition for a Fulltime Drama School so that I could seriously learn the craft, study 40 hours a week for two years. I avoided all the mainstream Drama Schools as their ethos was based upon breaking down the personality of the actor so as to build them up into a selfless puppet, that's not authentic in my opinion. When I discovered the Bridge Theatre Drama School I knew their approach to training was ideal for me, it was more authentic, they believed in building up the actor and working with the individuals personality and encouraging them to draw upon their self when creating a character, a company of actors learning within a professional space rather than an institution pouring knowledge into an empty cup. I was escatic when I recieved my acceptance phonecall to attend The Bridge Drama School on their two year programme and even more so when I was awarded a 50% scholarship so the course fees were cut by half. Although this was life changing news, it wasn't going to be that easy, as I soon discovered that the course is not funded by the government and so I was would have to work in the evenings and weekends to pay for the fees while studying fulltime instead of having access to student loans and only working to cover expenses.
The main obstable that I face as a Drama Student is the lack of time available outside of timetabled lesson hours to focus on learning lines and creating a character which is a huge requirement of becoming a professional Actor, so with minimal time to practise, I struggle to completely benefit from the training as my time is primarily consumed with working during the evenings and weekends to support myself and pay for the student fees. I do not have a problem with working, I will always work but I would like to focus more of my time on studying so as to give me the best chance of becoming a professional actor. I am currently on Easter break for 4 weeks and have been using this time to work and save up money to pay off the fees for the final term of the first year (£1127) so far I have paid £641 and have until April 21st to pay the remaining balance of £634 or I will not be able to continue my studies into the 3rd term. This brings me onto the main reason as to why I am raising £5000, considering how hard it has been to raise £1275 each term, (every 3 months) on a part time job, I am crowdfunding so that I can go into the second year and focus on my studies and not worry about whether or not I am going to remain a student due to non payment of fees.

How your donation will change my life ?
By making a donation you will help Drama Schools become more accessible to working class actors and on a personal level enable me to focus all my energy on the course giving me the best chance of developing my potential to the fullest. You will help someone become a qualified member of society and educate future generations through the medium of T.V/Film & Theatre.
Audition feedback from Course Director,
We have selected Anthony to train with us as a professional actor because he is talented, resourceful and determined. He stands out as someone who has dynamism, charisma and emotional range. I believe he will make his mark in the industry and will be able to sustain a successful career. His work is energised, exciting and varied and it is obvious that he has a presence on stage. I know that this will apply to the screen also." Mark Akrill
