Live Your Movie is more than a community organisation, it is a movement.

In our world greatness has no end - the LYM team is built up of individuals that directly relate to the struggles of being first generation of migrants navigating life as 'Black Brits'. We believe 'Identity' is at the start of your leadership journey, knowing who you are, where you are coming from to understand where you are going.

Our movement is a platform that empowers, educates and encourages individuals in the black community and the wider community to live their movie & be the leader of their life, their movie. We run continuous community initiatives and we are passionate about bridging the gap in our culture, community and generations.

The work we focus on is separated into 3 ventures: Events, Programmes & Productions.

Over the past 5 years collectively we have reached over 400 people from as young as 14+ at our Live Your Movie networking events alone. We create safe spaces at our events where different generations can pour back into the young generations helping them path the way to their success stories.

Our in house development and leadership programme (New Era Programme) has been delivered to over 50 young people between 16 - 18 across London; Southwark, Lambeth and more. This programme has been created by our Live Your Movie team who recognised the gaps in their own learnings and experiences when growing up. Creating this programme has been a response to preparing young people for the 'Big World' covering 5 main topics: Culture & Identity, Mindset & Leadership, Mental health, Financial literacy & The Big World (covering communication tools, professionalism).

Playing on the pun of 'Live Your Movie' we showcase stories through production of interviews which is then embedded in our programmes. We hope to create movies in the future highlighting and portraying how different individuals in our community live their movie to inspire those that come in contact with our production to be the leaders and hero of their movie.

Live Your Movie is passionate about challenging the narrative and raising the bar that young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, the black community and the wider community can be whoever they want to be, their dreams are not farfetched. We have been able to place some young people on summer placements with business owners so alongside their studies so they can learn new skill. We connect our world to back home in Africa to inspire and remind our young people that your identity matters and is important for where you are going.
