I've raised £1400 to undertake an elective in Ghana, working in maternity to care for women and their families

As a second year student midwife part of my university programme involves a module by the name of global health, exploring the differences in healthcare across the world. Under this module I am to undertake an elective placement, for which I have chosen Ghana.
Ghana's healthcare is very different to that of the UK in which I am studying, with healthcare being variable across the country and a range of different issues presenting themselves, this includes difficulty accessing resources, poorer sanitation and a greater prevalence in certain health conditions such as HIV, AIDS and TB, impacting on life expectancy, with a life expectancy of around 66/67.
Through undertaking an elective in Ghana I hope to see how people manage with fewer resources, and work as part of community very different to my hometown. The target for my elective includes basics such as flights, accommodation, food, VISA, DBS and immunisations; a breakdown of the costs is available at: https://www.planmygapyear.co.uk/ghana/ghana-medical-volunteers#1449581263832-75245b57-299c
I need to have raised all funds for my elective before September 2018. For those of you who would rather donate clothes, toiletries and toys for those in Ghana drop me a message!
Many thanks
