Story
The Fishermen and Firemen's charity was started in 1893 to provide funds for the families of the men lost at sea when the fishing smack 'Evelyn & Maud' was wrecked in a storm. Each year, a football match has been held on the beach and funds raised at that are now used to provide food vouchers for local elderly people. This year, due to covid restrictions we are unable to hold this event, yet will still be issuing the food vouchers as so many people rely on them.

My family have really missed the festive atmosphere on the seafront on Boxing Day. My elderly Mother loved me recording the mayhem of the raft race and showing it, at home, afterwards. Its very sad!

We have received such fun and enjoyment from the boxing day frolics, so it is now our turn to give.
