We are St Matthias Preschool and Childcare Centre, a charity run setting who aims to provide high-quality Pre-school education in a curious and active environment for the children in our care. We also provide After School Clubs and Forest School Holiday Clubs.

All our efforts are directed towards preparing the children for their future with their skills and their minds. As well as providing a safe, nurturing and engaging environment for our children, we also attempt to continually introduce stimulating new experiences for the children to equip them with the tools they need to live sustainably, be successful, happy and healthy in unpredictable and rapidly changing world.

As part of our setting we have our Nature Garden/Forest School area which is in need of an upgrade. We know that getting outside, even for a small time every day, is beneficial to our health. Children play harder outdoors than indoors, and time spent outdoors promotes curiosity, creativity and critical thinking, it is also linked with improved motor development and learning outcomes.

As a non-profit charity, we rely solely on fundraising and the kind support of our local community for these sorts of projects and are limited in our ability to purchase things we know the children would love and greatly benefit from. Our aim would be to create a multi-use space, full of nature and nurture areas and amazing things for the children to play and learn with!

Your donations will help us to purchase waterproof clothing and wellies for the children, an Outdoor Explorer Shed, to give the children access to equipment that will aid their curiosity and learning, plants and nature resources.
