Story

Liz Stringer and a group of Bibby Financial Services colleagues invite you to support in this very worth cause.

In our local office area, Salford, there are 35,900+ people aged 65+, over 1900 people over 65 living in Salford have a dementia diagnosis and Salford is currently the 18th most deprived local authority area in England (out of 317) and remains the third most deprived locality in Greater Manchester.

Across the UK Age UK reports that 18% (or 2.1 million people) of pensioners were living in relative poverty. This number has risen sharply since 2013/14, when it was 1.6 million.

Age UK works to combat loneliness through influencing, campaigning and service provision. Their research explores the extent of loneliness among older people, the impact it has on people's lives, as well as how they can make ageing a less lonely experience.

Their work is underpinned by volunteers, as such we are partnering with them and a number of our business partners to provide a Christmas party, we are looking to raise £1,000 to support this community project.
