I've raised £1000 to to help Scarborough Survivors continue to run and develop exciting programmes and activities for service users.

Scarborough Survivors is a registered charity which was founded in 1994 by service users who wanted to ensure that their voice was clearly heard within the Mental Health arena, it quickly became renowned for it's work and was used as a model for similar groups set up around the country. As part of it's work it offers a local self-supporting group covering the Scarborough and surrounding areas and is made up entirely of people with direct experience of mental health problems, either personally or as a carer, close relative or friend.
As a user-led organisation, the emphasis is on self-help and sharing information gained from personal experience. A key element of Survivor' work is to represent the voice of the service user on a wide range of committees and groups locally.
As most of you will know, mental health, in particular Schizophrenia is a huge part of my life and I learning new things every day. Scarborough Survivors provides a variety of daily/weekly activities including self-help groups, feel good walks, coffee mornings, arts and craft, aromatherapy groups, sign language courses, counselling and life skills programmes. Please help to keep this available for those who need it, to continue to survive mental health.
