Story

In April 2019 I will be moving to South Africa to live in Lungisisa Indlela Village (Zulu for “the right way” Village) to join LIV School as a class teacher and Head of Department for the Foundation Phase.

Lungisisa Indlela Village (LIV) is a Christian community project which provides holistic, residential care for orphans and vulnerable children whose lives have been affected by the impact of HIV/AIDS and poverty. Its core vision is to Rescue a child, Restore a life, Raise a leader and Release a star. LIV places parentless children into a family environment where they receive unconditional love, spiritual discipleship, care and nurturing.

The LIV project is a charitable organisation which means apart from board and lodging my position is a self-funded post.

To help make this possible I will be fundraising over the next few months and seeking sponsorship for my work. My fundraising will consist of 2 main strands. The first being the initial amount to get me to South Africa - approximately £900 (flight, Visa fees, medical report costs etc.) The second strand will be the ongoing sponsorship needed to provide for medical insurance and living costs - roughly £450 per month.

I would love to invite you to support me in this adventure, whether that be monetary (no donation is too small!) by participating in fundraising events, or just generally cheering me on!
