Story

On 26th December 2022, my Dad (Alan Robinson) suffered a major stroke and was hospitalised for 3 and a half months. Initially, we were unsure whether he would make it, but thankfully Dad is still with us, but suffered from paralysis down his right hand side with major doubts in place about his future quality of life. Thankfully, once his condition stabilised, Dad was transferred to Montagu Hospital in Mexborough where he received specialised treatment in the Rehab 2 Ward. Within days, he went from being hoisted in and out of bed to standing independently and eventually walking and climbing stairs, things we weren't sure would ever be possible and that is down to the brilliance of the therapy team on the ward. His life is now very close to normal and they are to thank for his rapid recovery.

Consequently, in August I am raising money for the Rehab 2 team by running 53km in August, to mark Dad's 53rd birthday on 28th August, which we didn't know if we'd get to celebrate 8 months ago. The intention is to go in to Montagu with a cheque and ensure the money goes to the therapy team there. Please donate if you can.
