Story

I would like to raise funds for The St Helier Transplant Team.
The renal unit at St Helier has been sending a team of kidney transplant patients to The British Transplant Games for many years. These games allow transplant recipients to give thanks to the fantastic NHS Drs, nurses and medical teams involved in the life saving treatment they receive. I have been a renal patient at St Helier for over 30 years, I have had 2 kidney transplants and had dialysis for many years under the constant fantastic care of St Helier renal unit.
The games are a celebration of life and a time to remember our courageous donors and their families.
This year unfortunately The British Transplant games are unable to go ahead due to the covid-19 outbreak. This is a huge disappointment to me and many others. However, I didnt want to miss the opportunity to raise awareness of organ donation and the fabulous work of the renal team at St Helier.
I will be sheilding for at least 12 weeks which means not leaving my house or my own garden at all, with no face to face contact.
I have decided to virtual walk and cycle (from Lands End to John O'Groats, this is a distance of 1744.2 km. I will be walking around my small garden and using a set of pedals to complete the challenge.
All funds raised will go directly to the St Helier Transplant Team πŸ’™
Thank you
