I've raised £5000 to support an inclusive event aimed at supporting individuals with mental health issues whilst enhancing road safety within the community.

We are seeking to raise funds to ensure the sustainability of an annual community event which promotes the benefits of motorcycling to those suffering from mental and physical ill-health whilst also improving levels of road safety amongst all age groups. Launched by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2016 the Llandovery Motorbike Weekend provides an inclusive family event open to all and enables interaction between all elements of the community. This event, run totally by volunteers, is proving to be extremely beneficial in particular when helping those with mental health issues to re-integrate in the community and the organisers have already partnered with several Public and Third Sector organisations in an attempt to make a difference. One of which is West Wales Action for Mental Health (WWAMH) who are an aligned charity. It is hoped that sufficient money will be raised to enable those participating in the Motorbike Project to qualify as a motorcyclist to coincide with the completion of the project (please see the WWAMH Website for further information www.wwamh.org.uk). The other key effect surrounding this event is the improvement of levels of road safety which will reduce incidences of harm or loss on our roads and organisers work in partnership with the local and regional road safety organisations. The event also runs activities in support of other charities, which in 2018, include The Wales Air Ambulance and Blood Bikes Wales.
To assist in this fund raising, eight riders from The Household Division Motorcycle Club are undertaking a mammoth motorbike ride of almost 2000 miles in 72 hours to raise money for the Llandovery Motorbike Weekend. Starting in Llandovery on Armed Forces Day on Saturday 30 June 2018, they will travel to John O’Groats and then on to Lands End before returning to Carmarthenshire. These veterans recognise the positive effect this event has on all, including those ex-Forces who may themselves be suffering from mental health issues.
Any support you may be able to provide will be gratefully received.
