Why are we doing this?

We believe that local startups and young people should work side by side for three reasons: - It inspires and empowers everyone involved - Helps students to build a portfolio and become work-ready & it cultivates confidence in their abilities to deliver a project on spec. We are seeking inspiration and help from our student community, but are also paying it forward.

How will it work?

We will approach all local graphic design schools such as Kingston College, Kingston University to run our competition. A project brief will be provided and a period of 21 days given to submit high res digital entries. Three winners will be picked and get: a certificate of acknowledgement, permission to mention us on the CV under 'awards' and use the design in their portfolio, plus the prize money of £75, £125 & £200 for example. We may choose five finalists and re-divide the money accordingly.

What happens after?

The winners will be given the opportunity to bid for a freelance project to expand the logo design to social media banners and submit proposals for our website design at writbit.io We aim to then run another competition to add teams to these winners, such as UX design and coding students. It will create a mini-startup hub design team. The winning team will have to prospect for freelance work with WritBit Ltd, if and when needed in future.
