Story

This year rather than asking for presents, or more likely a gin and tonic at the waterfront (?!) I am asking people to donate my birthday to School Club Zambia. If you feel like you may have bought me a drink, please instead think of donating something to this page. You will completely make my day and help fund one of my favourite programmes!

Why am I fundraising for this?

In December 2018 School Club Zambia will be taking part (for the very first time!) in the UK's Big Give funding challenge! As always we are aiming big and have set a target of £7,000, which will fund our Young Farmers Programme for the whole of 2019. This programme which has been running since 2015, upskills 40 students annually, at 4 schools in rural Sinazongwe. Young Farmers like Pessive (below), learn how to farm organically whilst developing their business and marketing skills and helping make an additional income for the school.

Under or un-employment rates in Zambia still stands at 85%, with young people from rural areas being the most effected. Programmes like ours which develop young people's skills and confidence are in desperate need and this is backed by our partners at the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Agriculture.

"I am now fully equipped with knowledge in organic farming. This knowledge will help me when I leave school. I hope Young Farmers Club can continue so that you can help more children like me."

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and if you donate please expect a big high five or hug when I see you next xoxo
