The planning permission has been granted to build 119 houses on the Spring Mill Site, Wallbank, Whitworth. Rossendale Borough Council and Gleeson Homes have ignored local residents and approved the development without proper consultation and using biased reports, which do not reflect the problems with access, highways, schools, infrastructure and the wildlife on the site. This is unlawful. There are protected species on the site, a Bat Survey and a full Environmental Impact Survey must take place. We need to fund this, and potentially legal representation. Please support our cause, Whitworth is a great place to live, but if this goes ahead, there will be serious risks to the local community, the environment and the wildlife living in the area.
