    Story

Please help Abby & Georgie transition into adulthood with ease!

Abby is a 17 year old teenage girl who likes books (especially Harry Potter), shopping and hanging out with friends. At the young age of 14, however, M.E & fibromyalgia changed all that. Abby would tire quicker than everyone else and as a result of that, had to constantly turn down requests to go out shopping and other activities and stay at home.

Georgie is a 16 year old teenage girl who longs to be able to leave the house without being esscorted by a parent. However, she knows this isn't likely to be possible at all in the near future. Georgie suffers from Aspergers Syndrome and blackouts, which mean a trip out that doesn't end with her getting extremly agitated and ending up sprawled over the floor is a rare event. She also frequently loses things, drops items and then struggles to pick them up.

Things all changed when they were given a dog to look after them. Georgie was paired with Lola, a two year old maltese, and Abby was paired with one year old Chloe.

Lola's job is to alert to oncoming blackouts, panic attacks and flashabacks. She will guide Georgie to the house, car, or a friend if she ever gets lost, and stops people getting to near by blocking them. She helps around the home too, picking things up, closing doors and finding things that have been lost. Georgie can now go out alone and not have to worry about collapsing, having a panic attack, or getting lost.

Chloes job is to alert to panic attacks, open doors, remind Abby to take her medication, call for help, and also untie Abby's shoelaces. Abby now has a partner who will sit with her when she gets tired without complaining and she can once again go out without worrying about what should happen should she suddenly become imobile.

Both girls are due to start collage alongside thier partners, which will mean they can both enjoy life to the full, rather than worrying about medical issues. Please support us to help fund the training and equipment needed to keep both dogs in top working order. The money given will go towards jackets, training and transport to the trainer who lives nearly 50 miles away.
