Story
We are hosting our annual golf day on 10th July to help raise funds for the London Warriors American football programme.
For those who know us well, you will know that sport plays a vital role in our lives and we all enjoy playing sport, of various kinds, as part of a healthy work-life balance. Participating in sport at early age can help teach children many of life’s virtues and explore and develop lifelong skills. The London Warriors Programme does exactly this and this why we are proud to help them in their fundraising efforts to become a fully fledged UK registered charity in due course.
Established in 2005 as simply a youth team, the London Warriors is a leading American football programme which helps young people across the country both on and off the field. The programme has achieved extraordinary success in its short history with the original Warriors youth team having won three youth national titles and evolving into an adult team who are the current National Champions. Across the age groups The Warriors have amassed ten national titles, resulting in the Warriors becoming one of the most talked about amateur sports programmes in the country. The legacy of inclusion, development and ambition left behind by the original team forms the foundation of today’s successful programme.
One of the greatest success stories of Warriors programme is Efe Obada. After a tough upbringing which included being trafficked to London, homeless and looking after his younger sister, Efe joined the Warriors in 2014 as part of the Urban American programme. Efe quickly learned how to play American Football, tearing up the British league with his size, speed and strength. Efe shot to fame in April 2015 when he was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent following a workout for the team when they were in the UK for the International Series. Efe is now finding success in the NFL and has spent time with the Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs.
