Story

Raising money to fund a memorial to commemorate all those London Bus Drivers & Transport Workers who have heroically given their lives whilst helping transport essential key workers in London to their places of work and helping to protect the NHS.

Our London Transport Workers have given their lives to ensure key workers like Doctors, Nurses, Carers, paramedics, Teachers , Civil servants, and Supermarket workers could get to the frontline and save lives!

"Alongside other key workers helping in the fight against Coronavirus, we are immensely proud of our team of drivers who are definitely heroes" London Bus Garage

There is a lot of support for the NHS and now lets support our London Bus Drivers by raising some money to create a memorial for all those that have lost their lives and provide each family with a token of our appreciation for their dedication and hard work to tackling the coronavirus and helping to protect the NHS

I will be running a Citizenship Campaign with my students (Im a secondary School Teacher in North London) to create posters and postcards to promote this campaign similar to the ones me see for the NHS.

Here is a few examples of how this has impacted the Bus driving Community and there families:

Emeka Nyack

"He didn't take risks - he was doing the job he loved" Anne - Mother of London Bus Driver - He drove the No.4 bus from Blackfriars to Archway

Nadir Nur,

48, was described by his family as a "dedicated, hardworking" father who took his duty as an essential worker seriously.

Kenneth Yeboah

Father of three worked for Tower Transit out of the Lea Valley Interchange bus garage

“He was an amazing singer who was the life and soul of the church. He was a wonderful father and husband, an incredible family man. We all miss him so much. People have been calling us from around the world. He touched so many people’s lives. The response has been very moving.” Wife Charlotte Yeboah
