Back to Basecamp: Let’s Build Long Ashton’s New Scout HQ

We’re building a brand new Scout HQ in Long Ashton, and we need your help to make it happen.

For years, our Scout group has thrived despite limited space and borrowed venues. But now it’s time for a proper home - one that gives our young people room to grow, learn, explore, and build lifelong skills.

With planning permission secured and over £200,000 raised so far, thanks to the sale of our former hut and years of local fundraising by our volunteer team, we’ve already made significant progress. These funds have helped us secure planning, carry out essential early works on site, and move the project forward.

We’re now focused on raising the final £600,000 needed to bring the new HQ to life.

We know that’s a big number, and here’s why: This isn’t just about putting up a building. Our site requires significant groundwork and highway access improvements due to limited infrastructure in the area. It’s a challenging location, but the end result will be a safe, beautiful green space and a long-lasting base for Scouts and the wider community.

This won’t just be a building. It will be:

- A home for adventure for around 150 local Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts

- The ability to expand our group and increase our capacity to match growing demand - our waiting list is BIG, and we want to reach as many local young people as possible!

- A modern, inclusive community space for Long Ashton residents

- A lasting legacy that supports generations to come

We're raising this total through a mix of grants, sponsorship, and community fundraising, and this page is our public hub for anyone who wants to help make it happen.
