Weʼve raised £2,625 to Replace eight trees on Longmead Avenue BS7 that are being felled due to disease and others in the Bishopston area.

    Bristol, United Kingdom
Funded on Thursday, 1st March 2018

    Story

Let’s keep Bishopston bursting with colour...

Update: *** With your help we've raised enough for our eight trees and the forms have been sent to the council and we should see them by the end of March 2018 :-) We also have enough for a ninth tree and we've nearly enough for a tenth!! Currently we're £110 short of that tenth tree, so I'm going to raise the total and see if we can get to number ten! ***

I'm proposing to replace a tree on Kellaway Avenue (near to Longmead) and if we get number ten, maybe on Gloucester Road?

Sadly eight trees on Longmead Avenue are being felled due to disease. Part of what makes our area and road so lovely are all the beautiful trees. As with many things, the council have no funding to replace the trees and are encouraging sponsorship. A group of Longmead residents thought it would be great to club together to replace the trees, but at a cost of £295 per tree, the cost is more than we’d envisaged. With over a 100 houses on our road, if everyone could find a little, we’ll raise enough to replace these eight beautiful trees in no time!

You can find out more about sponsoring or adopting a tree by taking a look at www.bristol.gov.uk/page/environment/tree-bristol-sponsorship and www.bristol.gov.uk/treemanagement For all other information please look at the notices on the affected trees.

Thank you to our wonderfully caring community, with your overwhelming support & along with The Gloucester Old Spot & other local businesses, we've raised enough to replace our Longmead trees. The trees are paid for, all we're waiting for is to find out a date for planting - but it should be by the end of March 2018. Amazingly, we've also raised enough to replace two more trees - 10 in total!! We should see these two tree planted towards the end of 2018. Our strength will grow through community! Well done everyone :-)
