Story

By 2050 nearly 2.5 billion people are projected to have some degree of hearing loss and at least 700 million will require hearing rehabilitation. In 2015, our own grandchild Magnus was born with severe hearing loss. Just before his second birthday, he received two cochlear implants that have transformed his life. This therefore continues to be a cause that is very close to our hearts. Over the last few years we have raised funds for the National Deaf Children's Society and the Evelina Children's Hospital in London where Magnus received his implants. This year we have chosen to support GHITA, a small registered charity that is based in Gibraltar, where Robert was born and where we have decided to start our 1,000 mile walk.

We hope that our efforts will help to increase awareness of this cause and charity.

Hello, we are delighted that our fundraising has now reached £240 with more than ten days still left for the start of our 1000 mile walk. We are greatly encouraged by this. Today we have been training along the Thames Path in Weybridge on a rather wet morning! Please keep the donations coming. It’s for a great cause. Please note that Ana Maria and I are paying our own way so all the money raised will go to fund GHITA.
