I've raised £500 to give the lovely PICU Ward 23 and Clinic E staff at Newcastle Freeman Hospital some credit to buy a coffee or chocolate etc at the CHUF shop

Story

The NHS team are absolutely brilliant... we have met alot of people who dedicate their lives to look after us. Last year we spent quite a bit of time on PICU Ward 23 and Clinic E with our daughter Rebecca at Newcastle Freeman Hospital. (Childrens heart unit)
These people go to work and not only work long hours and underpaid etc (lets not start me on that!) they experience things everyday which must be at times very hard for them. They see children suffering and parents in states of shock and still they smile and carry on doing what they need to do and keep going above and beyond to look after us . They have helped our family and lots of children and their families every single day . We are lucky to have these people.
It is an awful time when you are in the hospital some things you experience is not nice it really hits you mentally and it seems to never go away. The staff are going through this day in day out and when the parents go home the staff are still there smiling and ready to help the next family. I think it would be a nice mental boost for the staff if they could have a nice coffee or some chocolate or whatever they want from the CHUF shop to keep them smiling.
It wont be much but I hope to get at least every member of staff who helps in the running of this place nurses cleaners doctors play team surgeons and everybody a little something to show the appreciation they deserve.
Look after those who look after you !
