Al Noor Charitable Agency for the Needy is a registered charity on Zanzibar Island, Tanzania. See further below for more information on the charity and its operations.

Al Noor Charity has been requested by the surrounding communities of Kigunda Village, located in the north of Zanzibar Island, to build an islamic centre in order to provide education to the local community, and more specifically, to build facilities to prepare and wash the bodies of their loved ones who have passed away.

There are currently no available facilities to do so, and bodies are currently washed with difficulty in the home or are unfortunately left outside until buried. This is in addition to the Islamic Centre containing a masjid and school currently being built.

The Islamic Centre will have a capacity of 500 attendees. And the Islamic School is currently at 320 capacity, with 2 teachers allocated per class.

I am raising £10,000 to ensure this project receives the funds required to complete the construction of the Centre and its facilities which is currently ongoing. (Lillah and Sadaqatul Jaariyah applicable only. No Zakat will be accepted for this project)

All funds will be transferred directly to Al Noor in Zanzibar, who will issue a receipt confirming they have received all funds. They will then distribute the money accordingly throughout the project.

Justgiving's processing fees of 2.9% + 25p per donation will be covered/matched by myself. This ensures that 100% of donations will actually reach the community, so as to provide assurance to all donors that your money is being 100% contributed.

I am pleased to share that my family and I have worked closely with Al Noor in recent years, and we have visited the charity on the island personally to see the transparency of the operations on the ground and to see how funds are being spent by the charity.
