Cycling from Lords Cricket Ground 2 the ‘home’ of cricket…

None of us can really remember exactly how we volunteered, (press ganged), but ultimately agreed to cycle the 403 kms from MCC’s headquarters at Lords Cricket Ground in St John’s Wood London up to Southport & Birkdale Cricket Club, however all that really matters is the reason why….

We are a 4 x man team, all members of S&BCC, all passionate about cricket, all fathers and all with the need to shed a few Kgs!! This cycle challenge ticks all our boxes and raises much needed funds for two great causes, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and S&BCC, both are close to our hearts and both in their own different way play crucial roles in many people’s lives.

Our training regimes are now underway, some more advanced than others, but we now have our Challenge and Causes. The route is planned, event dates are now set and our combined team is determined to complete this challenge and raise as much money as possible, smashing our £6,000 target.

Our route starts from The Grace Gates at Lords on Tues 31st August and arriving in Trafalgar Road Southport at S&BCC on Saturday 4th September in time for the 1st Xl derby match versus Ormskirk.
