Story

Lorna is one of the bravest women I know and I’m honoured to have the pleasure of calling her my friend.

Lorna has been living with Cancer at an age where most of us are enjoying our lives and living them to the full.

Lorna was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer (which is incurable) in November last year, shortly before turning 27. She has been raising her son Mason and her beautiful twins with her partner Jonny, not once waivering in her strength in continuing to be an amazing mum and partner.

Lorna and Jonny are getting married a week before one of the biggest races of my life, one which I may not even finish, despite giving it my all.

For the last five months I have been training for the Grand Union Canal Race - 145 miles from Birmingham to London. Its a huge feat which has consumed my life for nearly half a year. Many have asked me if I’m doing this for charity - which I wasn’t because I felt if I didn’t finish it I’d be letting people down.

For my own pride I was going to wait to see if I was actually finish it before asking for donations - and bow out quietly if I failed...

However some things can’t wait. And some things are more important than pride.

I’ve put everything into this - and I will continue to until I finish or my body fails me. But please sponsor me for this - because help for Lorna’s family right now is worth more than my fear of failure.

Thankyou x
