I've raised £10000 to support the work of the Loss and Damage Collaboration (L&DC).

Loss and damage from climate change is happening right now! Across the World disasters like wildfires, sea-level rise, cyclones, floods and desertification, and heatwaves are leaving people homeless, jobless and displaced. There should be a Loss and Damage Fund to help people rebuild their lives and reduce the impacts when disasters do occur, but there is not. This needs to change and we are working to make it happen!
The Loss and Damage Collaboration (L&DC) are a group of practitioners, researchers, activists, creative practitioners and decision makers from both the global North and South working together to ensure that vulnerable developing countries, and the vulnerable people and communities within them, have the support they need to address climate change-related loss and damage.

We undertake research, do advocacy work and produce outputs that support our aim of ensuring that vulnerable countries have support to address loss and damage.
We work virtually across workshops and joint working group calls to share updates and information, expertise and skills.
The practitioners, researchers, activists, creative practitioners and decision makers that make up the Loss and Damage Collaboration are world-leading experts that work on the ground at the front lines of the climate crisis, at United Nations climate change conferences, for change-making NGOs, and boundary-pushing research institutions focused on human rights, justice, and equity.
Loss and damage from climate change impacts can result from extreme weather events such as storms and floods as well as slow-onset climatic processes which include such things as sea-level rise, drought and desertification. Losses include things like the loss of life, culture, biodiversity, territory and livelihoods. Damages include things like damage to homes, schools, hospitals and roads. Loss and damage impacts vulnerable developing countries, and the vulnerable people and communities within them the hardest, even though they have released little to none of the greenhouse gasses responsible for climate change.
